First Bandits Game is vs. Spooner this Sunday 1pm

The Bandits (0-0) will take on the Spooner Cardinals (0-0) of the Independent League of Sunday at 1pm. The weather forecast does not look great at the moment, its going to be cold and possibly rainy, but hopefully the rain is pushed back until Monday. The Bandits look to improve from last year's 12-19 record (8-14 in conference) and are looking for a fresh start in the St. Croix Valley Baseball League. The Spooner Cardinals were 5-7 in conference last season and had some tough breaks against some good teams. Both teams will be without a majority of their college players as college is still in session and the game may turn out to be more of a spring training game than anything else. The Bandits are slated to throw at least 4 pitchers to get some innings under their belt before conference play begins May 4th versus 2007 state runner-up Prescott. Look for Trevor Todd, Jim Rochford, Kyle Kahl, and Curtis Roebuck to get some work.

Most of the original Bandits are back in action for the 2008 season. The Bandits have added catcher Steve Siqueiros from the Osceola Braves and infielder John Peterson from the city of New Richmond. The Bandits are also adding SCF seniors Trygve Chinander and Jake Larcom to the squad.
