Game Recap - Bandits Take Win in Cumberland, 17-2

Mike Leahy pickey up his 2nd win of the season yesterday as the St. Croix River Bandits (6-11, 9-15) defeated the Cumberland Old Timers 17-2. Leahy pitched 5 innings, gave up 6 hits, 4 walks, and 2 earned runs, while striking out 1. Brian Jacobson was behind the plate for the Bandits for the first time this season, and looked very sharp.

The Bandits led off the 1st inning in an storming fashion, scoring 3 runs off of 5 singles. The Bandits scored 3 more in the 4th inning, 4 more in the 5th, and 7 runs in the 6th. Offensively, all 15 players that made a plate appearance got a hit, combining for 25 hits total. Troy DeSmet went 5-5 with 2 runs, 2 RBI, a double and a triple. Curtis Roebuck had 3 hits in 5 at bats with an RBI while scoring twice on the day.

Troy DeSmet and Brian Jacobson each pitched an inning of relief, allowing no runs in the last two innings.

Next game is in Chisago against the Bulldogs Friday night at 7:30.

*Can only hope that SCF can get as nice of a field as the one in Cumberland....or Osceola....or Princeton
