Game Recap - Rain Ends Game in 7th vs. Isanti, Bandits Lose 4-0

The St. Croix River Bandits (0-6, 1-11) couldn't get the bats going Friday night in Isanti, in a game that was hampered by and finally cut short due to rain. With the game tied 0-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the storm came in and lightning cracked nearby. To that point in the game starting pitcher Jim Rochford had only let up two hits, while walking one. The game was delayed for nearly 30 minutes before action resumed and Isanti was able to score a run in the bottom of the fifth, and tack on three more in the bottom of the sixth. Rochford again pitched a solid game, giving up only six hits and walking one, while striking out two and letting in only one earned run in six innings of work.

The Bandits unfortunately could not figure out Redbird pitcher Ben Lind and was not able to record a hit of the starting righty in the six innings they saw him. Alex Sullivan was able to get on via walk and steal two bases.

The Bandits next game is Saturday at Mora for a doubleheader starting at 2pm, and Sunday at home in SCF versus the Quamba Cubs.
